Get movin'...

We here at Misterwatch are so grateful for all of you, our customers. We wouldn't get to do our job without you - and we love our job! We like to think of this blog as a conversation we get to have with you, and today we thought it might be fun to start a little tradition of reviewing a few watch terms every once in a while that you might not be familiar with. Don't worry - we had no idea either what "watch movement" meant until we started this great business of ours! So here's a humble description of what 'movement' means - in real-people talk - and what types are utilized by some of the different watches that you might find as you're browsing our all-new, low-priced collection. :)

1. Movement - the "movement" of a watch refers to, essentially, how the watch is powered to keep time. "Quartz" movment means the watch is powered by a battery or by solar power. This is quite different from a "Mechanical" movement, in which the watch is powered by the steady release of energy from gears that need to be periodically wound, manually. This is the way most watches used to be made. Usually, one full wind can around 40 hours. Another type of movement is called "Automatic," in which the watch is powered by the movement of your wrist.Pretty cool, eh? Basically, as you move your arm throughout the day, the watch becomes wound. The winding will build up - meaning the watch won't stop working when you're still for a few minutes. In fact, it can take up to 72 hours for the watch to become still after taking it off!

How many times have you spoken with a Customer Service Rep and gotten the "We'll look into it" line? Typically when we hear that, we brace ourselves for one of two things:

1. A meet and greet with every manager at a business as they transfer your call across the whole company.
2. An automated email thanking you for voicing your concerns.

If you notice, not one of these responses actually ends in your issue being resolved.

You've been there, I've been there, we've all been there. That's why we've built our company on strong customer service. Although we're able to beat any price listed online, we realize no one will want to shop with us unless we're able to respond quickly if a problem arises.

Hitting the Ground Running

The day has finally come! Today, we at Mister Watch Online are officially joining the blogosphere and twitterverse (@mrwatch) and as you can tell, we've been practicing our online dialect.

We've been talking about launching these sites for a while now, but wanted to be sure that when we did, they serve a direct purpose for you, our customer. So what can you get from our blog and twitter? First and foremost, they will be another direct connection for you to reach us. We live online, and want to give you as many ways as possible to reach us with your questions, concerns or comments.
